The Boschendal winemaking vision is to balance tradition and experience with innovation to produce premium wines of modern sophistication, creatively embracing modern trends while honouring traditional winemaking techniques to create a selection of lauded red, white and Méthode Cap Classique varieties. While the Boschendal winemaking roots extend over 300 years to the origin of winemaking in the Cape Winelands, the fresh vision of young dedicated millennial winemakers focuses on translating some of the world’s most noble grape varieties and their delicate fruit expressions into Boschendal’s award-winning wines.

The 1685 range is presented in a unique curvaceous bottle inspired by the traditional bottle design used through the ages and commemorates the year of the original title deeds. These wines express the style and class that is particular to our estate and coastal surrounds, with special focus on purity of fruit lavished with measured modern winemaking for depth, breadth and balance.

The Boschendal bottle fermented Méthode Cap Classique selection embodies vibrancy and energy. Crafted from classic varieties in the time honoured traditional method with extended lees contact for opulence and texture without compromising inherent vibrant fruit detail and natural freshness. The Appellation Series is a portfolio of Limited production super premium Appellation specific wines that express the distinctive cool viticultural climate and soils of Elgin.

Boschendal’s young winemakers are encouraged to experiment creatively while preserving traditional winemaking techniques to produce premium wines of modern sophistication, such as the limited release Vin de Memoire Chardonnay and a range of contemporary wines, served exclusively at the Werf Restaurant.
