A donation that gave 70 learners new shoes for winter

As part of Searidge Park Primary’s (in Tafelsig) winter school shoe drive, we donated 70 new pairs of shoes to learners. Winters in Cape Town are notoriously harsh and most of the learners had tattered shoes or worn takkies that frequently got soaked in the mud and puddles surrounding the school.

We helped Searidge meet its target of 70 shoes and we added socks and sweet treats to ensure extra big smiles on the children’s faces at the handover ceremony, which was a special afternoon spent at the school.

The happiness on those kids’ faces was all we needed to see to know that we made the right decision in getting involved in this initiative. Kids are always at their most productive when comfortable and content. So we hope that our contribution to this cause will not only create a better learning environment for the children but will also empower them to feel confident, rewarded and well cared for.
