Capitec Bank partners with Adopt-a-School to bring purpose to The Color Run

The Colour Run

Capitec Bank, the headline sponsor of The Color Run in South Africa for the next three years, has partnered with the Adopt-a-School Foundation to bring some goodwill and colour to deserving schools in the towns they visit.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Capitec Bank has committed to donating R10 for every ticket sold towards a school, to support the creation and enhancement of a conducive learning and teaching environment in disadvantaged schools.

To add a fun element and raise awareness for Adopt-a-School, Atmosphere recently commissioned a well-known, Durban-based artist, Andries Botha, to produce a giant shoe sculpture, built out of mild steel and able to house school materials.

The Giant Capi-Tekkie allows athletes to engage with the initiative at the event by taking fun photos that give the illusion of wearing a giant shoe. Runners also stand the chance of winning R500 for themselves and an additional R500 towards the school by engaging on social media and posting their picture with the hashtag, #CapitecColorRun.

Education is Capitec Bank’s chosen corporate social responsibility priority area. To share this message, the Giant Capi-Tekkie will be transported to the remaining events around South Africa to raise awareness for the Foundation.
