Atmosphere outperforms at 2013 PRISM Awards

Atmosphere Communications walked off with six awards, including two golds, at the 2013 PRISM Awards – making the consultancy the most awarded for the evening. Atmosphere secured awards in categories as diverse as the technology sector, sponsorship amplification and the financial services sector, beating some of the country’s best agencies and communication professionals to the top spots at the Public Relations Institute’s annual awards evening in April.

Atmosphere scooped a gold award for the launch of Waze, a mobile traffic app. The campaign resulted in the number of subscribers to Waze more than doubling to 68 000 in less than four months. Another gold was for Johnnie Walker’s new Platinum brand – Atmosphere and our King James partners integrated traditional and social media to create talkability around the brand, which contributed to the product being sold out within the first two weeks of its in-store launch. Sales rocketed and the campaign resulted in sales exceeding the forecast budget by 103%.

The consultancy also won three silver awards, one in the event management category for kulula’s wacky Boeing launch, one for the Capitec Bank Speak Up campaign in the financial services category, and another for Waze in the technology sector. The Sanlam Investments FoodWineDesign Fair earned us a bronze in the sponsorship category.

Atmosphere’s managing director Nicola Nel acknowledged her dynamic, hard-working team and their commitment to the business outcomes of campaigns. “We are motivated by delivering great work to clients who appreciate our efforts. And then of course we always ask how PR can add to the bottom line.”
